Luis Suarez, who has scored 11 league goals this season, was initially set to miss the bulk of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery in January before the season was suspended thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic in March.Barcelona coach Quique Setien has not yet decided whether their Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is prepared to return to the starting lineup once they host Leganes in La Liga on Tuesday.

Setien started Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and February recruit Martin Braithwaite within the 4-0 win at Real Mallorca over the weekend while Suarez, who was fit again after injury, came off the bench for a 30-minute cameo within the last half .

Suarez, who has scored 11 league goals this season, was initially set to miss the bulk of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery in January before the season was suspended thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic in March.“I’ve not decided if Luis Suarez will start tomorrow, I even have to speak to him,” Setien told reporters during a virtual press conference on Monday. “We need to be very cautious, it’s normal to possess muscular injuries after an extended injury layoff.

“Griezmann has played almost every game. It’s true that there are more players now and therefore the minutes will need to be shared… Griezmann will still play a number one role, he's a crucial player.

“Except in very specific cases thanks to their hierarchy, I don’t consider players to be starters or substitutes. i would like everyone to participate… Any player are often on the pitch from the start .”

Setien said rotation would be key because the fixture crunch would cause player fatigue.

“The idea is to form changes and there'll be changes because the games pass ,” he added. “We will see how fatigue affects the players.

“My job is to undertake and obtain all of them to the top of the season within the best condition in order that the performance isn't suffering from the minutes.”

Barcelona lead Real Madrid by two points with 10 games to travel and Setien said there was no room for error within the title race.

“I don’t know what factor are going to be the foremost decisive in La Liga,” the 61-year-old added. “What we've to try to to is win.

“It’s getting to be a fight during which we both know that losing is unacceptable.”
